About the Program
Part 61 refers to 14 CFR Part 61, the FAA regulation governing pilot certification. Ground school covers the aeronautical knowledge required before you can take the FAA written knowledge test. It does not include flight training — that is a separate process with a CFI (Certificated Flight Instructor).
No. Our Private Pilot Ground Training course starts from the beginning. You do not need a student pilot certificate, medical certificate, or any flight experience to attend ground school.
The Private Pilot course typically takes 8–12 weeks attending two sessions per week. Instrument, Commercial, and CFI courses range from 10–16 weeks depending on the curriculum depth.
The FAA Private Pilot Airmen Knowledge Test (PAR) is a 60-question multiple-choice exam administered at an FAA-approved testing center (PSI Services). You have 2.5 hours to complete it and must score 70% or higher to pass. Completing our ground school qualifies you to receive the instructor endorsement required to take the test.
Scheduling and Format
Ground school sessions are held on weekday evenings and Saturdays. Current schedule is available on the Contact page.
Yes. Part 61 allows flexible scheduling. You can attend at whatever pace works for your schedule, provided you complete the course before your enrollment expires.
Students who miss a session are responsible for the material covered. Makeup options depend on availability. Contact your instructor directly to arrange review.
Yes. Once enrolled, you have access to our student portal with course materials, study resources, and practice quizzes. In-person attendance is required for the instructor endorsement.
Cost and Enrollment
See our Pricing page for current course fees. Prices are listed per course. There are no subscription fees or recurring charges.
The fee includes all instruction hours, access to the student portal with course materials, practice quizzes, and your FAA knowledge test endorsement upon successful completion. It does not include the FAA knowledge test fee (~$175) or any flight training costs.
See our Policies page for the full enrollment and cancellation policy. In general, full refunds are available within 7 days of enrollment if no course materials have been accessed.
After Ground School
No. Ground school satisfies only the aeronautical knowledge requirement. To earn a Private Pilot Certificate, you must also complete a minimum of 40 flight hours with a CFI, obtain a FAA medical certificate, and pass an oral and practical exam (checkride) with an FAA Designated Pilot Examiner.
Once you receive your instructor endorsement, you register for the test through PSI Services at faa.psiexams.com. The test is administered at authorized testing centers. The fee is approximately $175.
We are currently operating under Part 61 and pursuing Part 141 FAA approval. Part 141 requires FAA review and approval of our curriculum, facilities, and training records. Students enrolling now are trained under a curriculum that already meets Part 141 knowledge standards.
Instructors and Safety
Our instructors are FAA-certificated flight instructors (CFIs) with current certificates and documented flight experience. See our Instructors page for individual bios and credentials.
All instructors hold a current FAA CFI certificate at minimum. Several hold additional ratings (CFII, MEI). Credentials are listed individually on the Instructors page.
